Would you be ok to have the water in your house tested? Ok, let us elaborate this question further. Would you be ok to have the drinking water in your house tested, FOR FREE?
Well, this was our biggest challenge! WaterConsumer, India's not for profit org, was giving out free water tests. But why would a user want to have the water from his/her house/office tested; the water they have been drinking all these months/years?
We took up this challenge and educated the consumers on the possible problems that their water could have, and most importantly the possible problems that their water purifier might cause. Every type of water source is different and the treatment it needs to make it potable therefore varies too. Meaning, if the water in your house does not require a RO water purification technology, and you still use an RO water purifer (maybe because some advertisements propagate it), you lose out on the essential minerals of water.
Before we started the social media, we had built a vortal that allowed the user to find out which was the right water purification system for the type of water they get. Social media helped generate this awareness, educate the masses and meet the objectives.
